I woke up this morning
To frost on roofs
And frozen puddles on the ground.
Jack Frost had been
While the world slept
And left his footprints all around.
I pulled on my hat and gloves
And stepped outside onto frosty dust.
The cold air hurt my lungs and then,
I thought “December’s here again.”
